Welcome!!

  • Tracy Burford
  • Neil Armstrong Middle School in Forest Grove, Oregon where I teach 7th grade math.
  • NAMS is a 7th and 8th grade middle school with a little less than 1,000 students.
  • I have been teaching at NAMS for 3 years.
  • I received my B.S. in Education at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas in 2004.
  • I will receive my Master of Arts in Teaching from Pacific University in 2007.
  • When I finally leave Pacific University, I will have my CTL with my basic math and ESOL endorsements.

The purpose of this digital portfolio is to document my advanced competencies in teaching in such a way that others can view my presentation online. Dr. Camille Wainwright recently described three essential elements of any professional portfolio: collection, selection, and reflection. In this portfolio, the collection phase will come from things that me and my students create in the course of learning in the classroom.  The things I collect will be referred to as exhibits. The selection phase is comes when I match different exhibits to the 12 Continuing Teaching Licensure (CTL) proficiencies. The reflection phase will be completed as I write an explanation of how each exhibit demonstrates my competency in the proficiency that I am addressing.
