Combining personal and professional goals

From 1985 until 1997, I worked in a team environment with clients and other computer professionals as a business applications computer professional. In 1997, I remained in a team environment as a wholesale electricity trader buying and selling electricity, and often training new employees. In 2006, while participating as a volunteer in an after-school program tutoring Somali refugee children, I decided that I needed to work with children full time. This led first to a teacher-training program in Bangkok, Thailand and then to Pacific University, where I am currently completing their Master of Arts in Teaching Program.
