My Favorite Resources and Links

Here I will be listing my favorite books, websites and other resources that I encounter throughout my program and student teaching. Some will be directly related to teaching, others will be ones that I found motivating or helpful when starting my journey of working with children. Look back for more links as the year goes on!

Books

The Courage to Teach by Parker Palmer
¤This book is great for beginning and veteran teachers. It reminds us of why we do what we do every day. I think every teacher can find something to relate to in this book.
The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff
¤I recommend this book because I believe that every Early Childhood or Elementary school teacher should have some Pooh in their life!

Teaching With Love & Logic
by  Jim Fay & David Funk
¤This book has some really fabulous ideas for how to create a caring enivronment in the classroom and how to deal with students you may be having issues with.

The Shame of the Nation by Jonathan Kozol
¤ Not only does Jonathan Kozol offer some eye opening stories and facts about the state of many schools in the U.S., he is also a very good writer and his books are easy to read. I haven't finished this one yet, but with what I have read thus far I can recommend it!
