Authentic Performance Assessment

The scoring guide on the following page is for the authentic performance assessment. The Unit Goals covered in the 4 lesson plans are 1, 2, &4 specifically. All of the graded tasks have performance assessment in mind.

The learning taking place will be valuable to all in the school community. A better understanding of oneself and others and the realization that others strengths are not to be feared but appreciated has value outside the classroom. In fact, this unit would be beneficial for any adult in the building.

Every task gives the student multiple ways to demonstrate their understanding. There is some choice in activity selection. Different learning styles and multiple intelligences are taken into consideration. In fact, in the 4 lessons described, only naturalist and musical intelligence are not addressed. The student will be required to show knowledge of personality and goal setting primarily through written, oral, artistic, and cooperative learning processes. I can’t wait to see it unfold this September.
