Purpose
of CAM
The purpose of CAM is to
assure that each student:

Prepares for successful transitions to post secondary schooling,
employment, and adult responsibilities.
·
Is actively engaged in his or her own educational planning and takes
responsibility for his or her own learning.
·
Applies high-level academic and career-related knowledge and skills in
relevant and meaningful learning experiences.
·
Is supported by the school and community to achieve success in learning
and accomplishing his or her goals.
What
are the student requirements for CAM certification? A student must:
1.
Develop an education plan
and build an education profile.
Plan learning experiences that apply and extend knowledge and skills related to personal, academic, and career interests, and prepares for post-high school next steps. Monitor and communicate progress through an education profile.
2.
Demonstrate extended
application through a collection of evidence.
Apply and extend academic and career-related knowledge and skills in new and complex situations appropriate to the student’s personal, academic, and career interests and post-high school goals.
3.
Demonstrate career-related
knowledge and skills.
Demonstrate career-related learning standards in personal management, problem solving, communication, teamwork, organization and systems, employment foundations, and career development.
4.
Participate
in career-related learning experiences as outlined in his or her education
plan.
Connect classroom learning with real life experiences in the workplace, community, or school.
