Differentiated Lesson plan: Interest

 

Lesson Title: Personality and Goal Setting

 

Grade Level/Subject: 11th & 12th/ Marketing 2

Materials: Balance wheel overhead, balance wheel handout, and worksheet

Length of Lessons: 68 minutes

 

Unit Goals:

To understand the importance of proper goal setting in successful groups/businesses

 

Lesson Objectives:

The student will be able to demonstrate their understanding of goals by identifying a life philosophy by completing the balance assignment and answering specific life application questions.

 

Differentiation/Rationale (1 paragraph):

Setting personal goals in very “personal” and based on individual interests; perfect differentiation. These goals will hopefully have greater individually credibility as the learner should have greater knowledge of their own and others personalities.

 

Pre-assessment/Lesson Assessment:

Scan Journal writes as they are being completed at the beginning of class.

 

Review completed balance wheel sheets.

 

Anticipatory Set:

Quote of the day- “The only to fear is fear itself”- FDR

Journal write- “What does this mean to you when thinking of your personal goals

 

Whole Class Instruction:

-    Handout balance wheel and describe its function/how to complete

-         Individual completion of balance wheel- show to Mr. Moe

-         Identify and write/draw picture of life philosophy

-         Answer 1-4 on wheel sheet

 

 

Actual Differentiation:

Each student will have his or her personal “goals”. Their interest will determine their life philosophy. In addition, they may write their personal philosophy on life and portray through artistic means.

 

 

 

 

Closure:

Have individual volunteers share life philosophy with the class. Share goals of successful business with students.

HW- 1 page typed paper on the life philosophy of a famous person.
