This stack contains 18 slices of a movie of a lightning bolt taken with a Canon Hi-8 video camera at the Advanced Image Processing Workshop in Mesa, AZ in July of 1995.  A larger version of this same movie was included in the Image Processing for Teaching 95 Workshop CD.  These 18 slices were captured at 30 frames per second.  The images were captured outside the Hilton Pavilion Hotel; the streetlight in the parking lot is plainly visible, as are some of the surrounding trees.  These images were captured by Charles Hemann and Mike Charles.
