Brown Recluse
Brown recluses are timid species. Their enemies- humans- birds-insects-and other spiders hunt on the brown recluse.
A Brown recluse is Brown or tan colored. they have a mark on their body shaped like a violin and a fiddleback. Brown recluses have 6 eyes.
They live in dry sheltered places such as homes or under wood piles or rocks. They mostly don’t live in Oregon, they live in the south central part of the United States.
Their web is a sheet web that is small and loose and shapeless.
Birds, insects, and other spiders are predators on the brown recluse.
Their bites are poisonous especially to young children and elderly adults. Both female and male have poisonous venom. Their bites take months to heal to healthy grown people.
The brown recluse leaves its web to hunt for food. It pounces on its prey and it injects its poison into the insect by its fangs. Its venom kills the insect. The venom makes the spiders insects all liquidy and it drinks it out.
When a female spider has laid her egg sac in her web, she guards the eggs until they are ready to hatch. The spiderlings hatch when the weather gets warmer. It will take ten to twelve months for a spiderling to grow to an adult. It will molt several times as a spiderling.
