about me
about me
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I went to college at University of Oregon and am a huge duck fan! After graduating from U of O, I moved to the East Coast to lead 31-day wilderness courses, which I loved. It involved two of my favorite things: kids and nature. After three years I moved back to Portland where I had the opportunity to work as a Case Manager/Internship Coordinator with youth who were experiencing homelessness. I recently returned to Oregon after serving 27 months as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mozambique, where I worked with young women on HIV/AIDS education and prevention, income generating projects, and empowerment. This experience was amazing, challenging, and magical in every way, and solidified my decision to become a teacher!
I love traveling to new parts of the world, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. I enjoy running, exploring under the sea, snuggling with my cats, being in nature, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.
