To the families of Mr. Lowther’s 2005-2006 students,

You might see me and wonder who I am . . .

This letter will clear up the mystery of my identity!

My name is Cindy Honma. I will be a member of your child’s teaching team this school year. As a student teacher from the Pacific University graduate teaching program, I’ll be working 100% of the time under the expert guidance of Mr. Lowther. I feel quite privileged to work with such a terrific mentor!

Until the holiday break, I will be working in Mr. Lowther’s classroom every Thursday. Starting about February through April, I’ll be working with the class full-time.

Text Box: A little bit about me: I am a third-generation Japanese-American, born and raised in Northern California. My homestead in North Plains is crowded with Stan, a Sun Microsystems program manager, Evan, our 14-year-old, a Goliath Doberman named Fang, two cats (Smoocher and Miss Mao), and two llamas (Bo and Monty, left). My hobbies include aerobics, yoga, hiking, swimming, snorkeling, films, reading, cooking (and eating!), needlework, word puzzles and games, and traveling. I’ve enjoyed vacationing in Eleuthera (Bahamas), Turks and Caicos, Mexico, Belize, Italy, France, Hawaii and Tahiti.

Prior to pursuing my lifelong dream of working in the public school system, I held rewarding management and sales positions for companies such as Microsoft and Muzak, the “elevator music” company.

It will be my privilege to be part of your child’s teaching team this year. Working closely with you and Mr. Lowther, I’m looking forward to helping your student make many new discoveries about her- or himself and the world.

Sincerely,

Ms. Honma
