I am currently doing my student
teaching at Reedville Elementary School. Reedville is located in Aloha,
OR and is part of the Hillsboro School District. Reedville is a Title I
school. I am in a kindergarten and a 4th grade classroom. My Kinder
mentor teacher's name is Megan McIrvin and has been teaching for 3
years now. She comes from a teaching background and seems to love her
job. Our classroom has a supplimental curriculum to help bring our
students to the level that they need to be at for the first grade! I
will be doing my work Sample on Plants/Leaves. I think this will be a
fun topic to engage in with the students. I am looking forward to
working in Megan's classroom and getting to know all of the first time
students! My fourth grade mentor teacher is Jamie Bradley. This is her
9th year of teaching. So far I have been very impressed with what I
have observed. She makes this job look very easy! She is very organized
and keeps on top of all activities and lessons. I will be doing my work
sample on the Oregon Trail. This is a big lesson, however I am excited
to take it on. I had so much fun doing the Oregon Trail in the fourth
grade myself that I am really looking forward to putting that positive
energy into my lessons. I feel very comfortable at Reedville and look
forward to the next 7 months! |
