I graduated from Pacific University in 2012 with my Bachelor’s in Education and Learning. After graduation, I decided to take a couple years off of school prior to continuing my education career. Within those couple of years, I was a pre-school teacher for Montessori Cares in Hillsboro, OR and a teacher’s assistant for Learning Tree Day School also in Hillsboro, OR.
Before beginning my college career, I was born and raised in Honolulu, HI. I attended a private school my whole life. I am the oldest of three and have many younger nieces and nephews; all of whom I have considered my younger cousins because we were pretty close in age. I’ve spent summers and weekend babysitting and watching my sisters, nieces, and nephews. Constantly being around my sisters, nieces, and nephews had sparked my interest of wanting to work with children, which eventually led to me wanting to be a teacher!
I’m excited to pursue my career in teaching. The way children learn and scaffold information is very interesting to me. I hope to be a good influence to students and help them learn to love school and learning!
