This project was developed as part of my Masters in Education training at Pacific University.  This particular lesson was designed in order to help 2nd and 3rd graders better understand geography and become “young geographers”.  Also- it was designed to help them understand the research process.

In this particular lesson the students will be conducting research based on geography- through the use of animals.  The children will be researching, in groups, where specific animals live (what their habitat is), why they live there, what makes it possible for them to live there, what they eat, etc.  In the end they will also be creating an art project based on their findings in research.
