Poopie, poopie, poopie...
Poopie, poopie, poopie...
At my Cornelius placement this week, I got really lightheaded and sick and then I threw up and had to go home early. I felt really bad for my mentor teacher since I was at the ELC all last week and ended up having to leave so early this week, too. But I’m glad she was so flexible and let me leave because I don’t think I would’ve made it through the rest of the day.
The 3rd graders are learning about quadrilaterals this week and worked on describing the different types. They made posters in groups and if they go done early, they got to work on quadrilateral riddles! Here are some of the ones they came up with!
Today at the ELC, we had several half hour (or longer!) discussions with the Kinders about using “naughty” words such as “stupid” or “poop”. We read “Elbert’s Bad Word” and talked about other things we
could say so that we wouldn’t hurt anyone’s feelings or gross anyone out. But the bad words kept continued to come out of some people’s mouths. Ms. Katie, my mentor teacher decided that we needed to just sit down and have a discussion about “poop”. If they kept saying that word, it meant that there was some kind of interest of it, right? So we had a long discussion about pooping and how it’s something we all do and some students asked questions about it. Hopefully this helped because it was a very long and detailed talk about poop!
We also had an extra outdoor learning and some of the students decided to do a reader’s theatre on Beauty and the Beast! Cutest thing ever!
