Haiti

This is where the kids in the village of Les Anglais go to school.
This is another part of the school.
In Haiti, families have to pay for their kids to go to school.  Many families cannot afford it.
Some rely on sponsors to help pay for tuition, uniforms, books, and food.
This is the class president raising the flag in the morning.
The school kids put on a performance for us.
Water is very scarce in Haiti.  Here is one of the wells in Les Anglais that provides clean water.
Here is the kitchen where our meals were prepared.
Down on the beach, people make fishing nets to fish and to sell for money.
The children who can’t afford to go to school help their parents out during the day.

In February 2009, I travelled to Haiti.  It touched my heart in many ways and will always be a very special experience for me.  Here are a few of my pictures to show you why there is so much to love about Haiti.
