My name is Brendan Kelly I am currently seeking my Masters degree in Teaching and am enrolled in the Pacific University MAT program. I grew up in southeastern Wisconsin in a town called West Bend. I lived there up until I went to college in Kenosha Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin - Parkside.
While in college I met the love of my life Meg Richardson who went to school in Ohio. We met through mutual friends in 2005 and began dating. We are engaged and both living in Hillsboro Oregon. The wedding date is set for 09/10/11.
Meg was accepted into Pacific’s Optometry program and we decided to move to Oregon together. I worked for a bit then was accepted into Pacific’s MAT program.
One of the reasons I went to the University of Wisconsin - Parkside was because of their track program. Throughout high school I was always involved in sports and track was my favorite. After making it to state in 4 events my senior year of high school I was offered a scholarship to UWP. I accepted this scholarship and began my running career at the collegiate level.
While at UWP I was also involved in many extra curricular groups. I was the president of the Parkside Association of Communicators (PAC), Captain of the Track and Field team, member of the Student Athletic Council, member of Lambda Pi Eta student honors society, and an officer on the Track and Field funding committee.
My family all lives in Wisconsin. I have two older brothers. My oldest brother Shaun lives in Milwaukee and is an architect, and my other brother Ryan lives in West Bend and works as a custodian. My father is an inventory control specialist and buyer for Hy-Brid Lifts. My mother is a Reading Recovery Specialist at Decorah Elementary School in West Bend.
My mother was my main inspiration for becoming a teacher. Working with her students and being in the school teacher setting growing up has given me appreciation for what teachers do and the drive to become one myself.
