This Podcast was created my Danny Harris and I. We chose to do Elizabeth Gurley Flynn because she was an amazing activist and helped shape the freedoms that allow us to live the way we do
This is a Podcast that highlights the life of Elizabeth Gurley Flynn. Elizabeth was an activist in the early 1900’s and spoke for workers rights and the 8-hour workday.
Elizabeth was a socialist woman who joined the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). With the IWW Elizabeth spoke for both labor rights and freedom of speech throughout the country.
Elizabeth’s story is covered in the struggle for the rights that we have today. She fought against big business that treated their workers poorly and made them work in hazardous conditions.
