Process

1. You will work collaboratively in a group with 3 other people.
2. With your group choose a major language group of Native Americans in Oregon to study from the list below.

Northern Oregon Coast- Tillamook
Willamette Valley western Cascades- Kalapulyan
North Eastern- Nez Perce
Columbia River_ Chinook
Southeastern Oregon- Northern Paiute
Southern Oregon- Kalamath


3. Your task with your group will be to research the group you choose.
    A.     Begin with this website

        1.     Click on your area and gather some basic information on your group.
        2.      Split up the topics below with your group members. 
4.  Open the word file and use this to save your information Questions for webquest.doc 
5. Meet with your group and discuss the information you have gathered.
6. View the evaluation page. Work as a group to select a presentation method. 
7. Use the rubric to help you create a project that will show the information you 
         have researched.

Community
            1.     Where did they generally live?
            2.     Where they nomadic (did they move their homes and communities)? 
                    If so where  did they go? Why did they move?
            3.     How did they build their homes?
Social Structures
            4.     How were communities structured? 
                    (Villages, solitary homes, centered around an object or person).                                                   
                         i.     Who was in charge?
                         ii.     How were communities governed?
            5.      Did they trade with other groups of people?
                         i.     What did they trade?
Culture
            6.     What did they live (subsist on) on?
            7.     What did their dress/attire look like? Regular wear and Ceremony wear?
            8.     What kinds of things are they known for?
              9.      Find the official tribal website. What does the website offer? Visitors and/or tribal  
                       members?
History
            9.     What happened to this group when settlers began to arrive?
            10. Was this group moved to a reservation? Which one? 
                    With what other tribes/language groups?
               11.   Find important dates and begin to construct a timeline for these people.
