“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove . . . but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child”

-- Forest E. Witcraft (American Scholar, Teacher, and Scout Leader)

Who is Mrs. Becky Tengs?

Welcome! My name is Becky Tengs and I am a current student at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.  I am enrolled in the Masters of Arts in Teaching program through the College of Education; and I am working on my Masters in Teaching with a focus on Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.

In addition to being a full-time student, I am a member of the College of Education’s Student Council, the Secretary of Pacific's Professional Programs’ Council, student representation on the University Technology Committee, the co-Secretary of Kappa Delta Pi, and a student teacher at the Forest Grove Community School (fourth, fifth, and sixth grade blend) and Oak Hills Elementary School (first grade).

From January 29th, 2009 until Spring Break, I will be a full-time student teacher at Oak Hills Elementary teaching a unit on Animals in Winter. Starting the second week in April, I will be at the Forest Grove Community School full-time leading the students through a map making unti (hopefully) using digital photography.

I live with my extremely supportive husband and our elderly dog-child Daisy -- both of whom are the loves of my life. Additionally, I love scrapbooking, spending time with friends/family, art projects, organzing, and relaxing.
