7/18/03 WE ARE BACK HOME!

Griffin, Quinn, Pamela, and Mark Bailey are taking advantage of Mark's sabbatical to travel, work, and live in a number of unique places. The overarching reason for this adventure is to allow each of us to experience life and learning in a variety of cultures. During our 3 month stay in New Zealand we will be all be a part of a unique learning community in Christchurch called Discovery 1 where we hope to gain experience with discovery learning. Mark's focus will be on pedagogy and technology, Pamela's will be on reading methodologies. We are also working with the Roots and Shoots organization to collaborate with different schools along our route.

Our trip will last a total of 6 months taking us to 5 continents and dozens of countries. During this time we will be documenting our experiences and posting pictures, videos, and reflections at this site. We will organize these materials by country and will have pages constructed by all the family members. On the menu to the left are links to these countries. Currently they contain very short descriptions of our plans, dates and funky maps. As we go to each country we will link resources that we gather through these pages.

Throughout our trip you will be able to contact us through email. There may be times when we will be temporarily out of touch due to lack of email access but we look forward to and will try to respond to your mail as quickly as possible.
